We are pleased to announce the new Idaho chapter award for, “Excellence in Fire Investigation“.
This award will be presented by the Idaho Chapter of the International Association of Arson
Investigators and is sponsored by Fire Cause Analysis of Idaho (F.C.A.). Only one award will be
presented annually at the training conference in November.
To be eligible for the award, the recipient must be a member in good standing of the Idaho Chapter
of the International Association of Arson Investigators and have demonstrated their excellence in
fire investigation through one of the two following criteria.
1. The investigator, or an investigative team, performed an exemplar investigation of a
complex fire or explosion that resulted in a successful conclusion of the case. Some examples are,
but not limited to, serial arson investigations resulting in an arrest, highly valued complicated
investigations resulting in either an arrest or an identification of a responsible party in a civil action,
or other investigations that are deemed “remarkable” compared to regular fire or explosion
investigations.
Or;
2. The investigator has demonstrated, over an extended period of time, a great devotion
and dedication to the field of fire investigation, exemplifying the Idaho Chapter’s goal of
promoting better training, education, and job performance within the field of fire investigation.

awards@FCAIdaho.com. By October 1, 2025. For submissions relating to individual
investigations, the investigation must have come to a conclusion between September1, 2024 and
September 1, 2025, regardless of date of the original incident. Both public and private investigators
are eligible for the award. (With the exception of any investigator whose work product was

submissions after the names of the nominees, and their agencies/companies have been redacted.
